Holiday Neighborhood

Client: Boulder Housing Partners,Boulder, CO

Barrett Studio Architects has designed and is currently implementing the Master Site Plan for the Holiday Neighborhood, a 27 acre mixed use, mixed income neighborhood being developed by Boulder Housing Partners. This vital garden village will include two projects designed by BSA, one an artist’s live/work loft and the other townhouses adjacent to Holiday Park.  These projects will be joined by those designed and built by a variety of architects and builders, creating a rich diversity of architecture.

The neighborhood, on the site of the old Drive In theatre, is structured as a series of pedestrian-scaled spaces that give shape to the community.  The $80 million build out includes over 350 residences of all types, offices, live/work spaces, neighborhood shops, pocket parks and a community garden all connected by walkable tree lined streets.  This is a realized opportunity combining innovative urban design with green building strategies including energy saving building envelopes and cutting edge stormwater management – design funded by an EPA grant.  Holiday comes to life as a significant, vibrant neighborhood on the northern edge of Boulder.
