Leaf House

Missoula, Montana

Like a leaf resting on the edge of a mountain draw, this singular form encloses an open floor plan that integrates flowing public space and embracing private space.  The curved walls provide views to the valley below and privacy from the road above, while the garage is sheltered under the hillside to minimize its visual impact on the site.  In an effort to minimize energy use and impact, this home incorporates PerformWall ICF walls, sprayed foam insulation, radiant floor heat, passive solar design, and earth integration.
