Living Architecture

Amy Kirtland

Architect, Project Manager, Associate

Amy grew up skiing and hiking in the mountains of Colorado. She completed her undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Colorado, and she received her Master of Architecture from the University of Texas with a focus in sustainable design.

Amy continually seeks out hands on experiences in her education and practice as an architect. These experiences include leading a team of 16 students through a design-build project in the Texas hill country, volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, and the never-ending design and labor on her 1950’s ranch home.

After a four hear hiatus in Austin, Texas and Southeast Asia, Amy happily returned to Barrett Studio and the outdoor wonderland of Colorado in 2006. She currently lives in Boulder with her husband and their daughter, India.
