Radial HomeWoods Landing, Wyoming The Radial Home is nestled into the foothills of Jelm Mountain, overlooking the Laramie River. The design incorporates 180-degree views to the valley below, while minimizing exposure to the harsh Wyoming winds. The rough stone fins support peeled log beams that form a vaulted radial roof. Further reinforcing a natural materials palette, a cor-ten steel roof blends with the rock outcroppings on the site, while the garage is earth-sheltered to limit visual impact. The home is heated by a zoned radiant floor, a masonry heater, and through passive solar exposure allowed by its unique siting. A solar thermal array provides domestic hot water and heats the in-ground infinity pool located in the solarium. Encouraging an intimate relationship with the dramatic site, the studio/guest bedroom has both views and direct access to the hillside above the house.
