Barrett Studio architects was contracted following an international selection process for the Master Planning and Programming of this unified k-12 campus in the vibrant city of San Francisco.  Through close involvement with the school’s leadership, faculty, and parents, the BSA team developed six programmatic criteria most integral to the school’s goals.  Following final site selection, BSA’s contract will include design and construction administration services associated with the formalization of this unique learning environment.  One such scheme was developed for the revitalization of a former Armory building in a historic district, requiring close involvement with the National Historic Department to identify and comply with pertinent issues.  The adaptive reuse of this formerly imposing structure would provide a light and expansive indoor / outdoor learning environment for the children of the school.
